Early passenger car rosters for the EBT are unclear. However, it is certain that in 1916 the EBT purchased several passenger cars from the Boston Revere Beach & Lynn and the Au Sable & Northwestern. Passenger trains on the EBT ended two years prior to the abandonment, and the railroad began to sell off its collection of antique wooden coaches. By 1956, all that remained in the railroad's possesion was one coach, two combinations, and the president's car. During the 1960 reopening, and again in the mid 1990s, a total of six freight cars were modified to haul passengers. An additional open car was created in 2008 and use our twin EBT-built cabooses.

Boxcar 168
Built 1920 by EBT

Knowing the EBT needed extra capacity to take some load off the antique wooden passenger cars, FEBT converted this boxcar to a handicap accessible open car. The rear corner of this car is equipped with a wheelchair lift. With the completion of this car in 2008, it is now convenient for the handicapped to ride our train.
