  • Hours and Schedule:
EBT is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays (except on Monday July 5th 2010 and Monday September 6th 2010; see Events) from the first weekend in June through the last weekend in October. Steam trains depart Orbisonia Station nortbound at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. The gift shop inside the station is open from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, while the train is in operation. Your relaxing ride through fields and forests will last about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Handcar and speeder rides are available between 11:00 am and 4:30 pm. These unique maintenance cars depart across the street from the railroad station and travel south on recently cleared track that the train does not run on.
  • Features:
At the EBT, visitors enjoy the relaxing ride through forests and farms behind one of our original steam locomotives. Bring a picnic basket and have lunch at our old fashioned picnic grove and take a later train back to the station. Visitors also can explore the gift shop and rail yard at their leisure. Ride one of several antique EBT speeder cars on a 2 mile round trip.
  • Programs:
Bus tour reservations are welcomed with yard and shop tours available by request. If you are interested in vintage photographs of an authentic coal train, photographer's specials are available with original, historically accurate equipment, by special arrangement.
  • Extras:
The Rockhill Trolley Museum is adjacent to the EBT. Ride an antique trolley through the countryside along the Blacklog Creek on the EBT's Shade Gap Branch. There are two parking lots which provide ample parking. Parking lots are located next to the yard and roundhouse and on the north side of the station. At the current end of track is a picnic area called Colgate Grove. Bring a picnic lunch and wait for a later train. Located just a few doors down from the EBT station on Meadow Street is the Brass Lantern, an 1860's era general store turned ice cream and antiques shop.
  • Please Note:
EBT reserves the right to substitute motive power and equipment and change the schedule as demand and availability warrant without notice. We are not responsible for insufficient capacity. Operation of trackcars is subject to weather conditions and the availability of volunteer operators. Coal-burning steam locomotives produce coal smoke and cinders in the air which can settle on passengers riding in open cars. Passengers may wish to wear dark clothing, ball caps, and sunglasses.
